Rebecca Tiessen is a Professor in the School of International Development and Global Studies, Director of the Gender, Peace and Security Collaboratory at the University of Ottawa, and co-Director of the Research Network on Women, Peace and Security. In 2023 she received the University of Ottawa Excellence in Education award for her work building university-community collaborations, partnership-development with local organizations and emerging researchers in 15 countries, and her innovations in teaching that facilitate student experiential learning opportunities. She is author of more than 100 publications on feminist foreign policy; gender, security and development; and experiential learning.
Network Goals
Supporting a growing network of graduate students who are interested in gender equality, peace and security with opportunities for research assistance and knowledge mobilization
Expanding the research network with new partnerships and collaborations with scholars and practitioners around the world to bring in diverse regional expertise
